"We have found a significant amount of base issues...the trucks are actually showing and leaving imperfections in the road base that need to be repaired before we can go further," the staff member said. The contractor was asked to provide prices; staff anticipated receiving estimates the following morning and urged commissioners that quick action might be needed to avoid further delays.
Because legal notice rules require at least 48 hours' notice for special meetings, commissioners discussed scheduling constraints; the commission ultimately moved and approved a special meeting on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. by voice vote to consider urgent paving repair authorization if needed.
