Council moves toward adding lot to Plaza TIF agreement, discusses yard-waste site

During a work session April 22 the Huxley City Council heard from Chris Gardner about adding a second lot to the development agreement for Huxley Plaza LLC and discussed the Ames Resource Recovery/Resource Center and whether the city should operate a yard-waste site.
Chris Gardner presented on adding the second lot and whether prior terms of the agreement had been fulfilled. According to the minutes the general consensus of the council was to execute an agreement "in the original spirit" of the existing development agreement; no formal motion or vote is recorded.
Mayor David Kuhn then updated the council on the status of the Ames Recovery and Resource Center. Council members discussed the feasibility of a city-owned yard-waste site but took no formal action.
No formal approvals were recorded for either the TIF amendment or a yard-waste site during the meeting; both items were discussed in a work-session format and may return for formal action at a later date.
