On May 13, 2025 the Huxley City Council approved multiple capital expenditures affecting streets, parks and public works.
Council passed Resolution No. 25-047 approving the FY2026 Mill & Overlay Project; passed Resolution No. 25-048 authorizing purchase of a backhoe for Public Works as part of the FY2026 Capital Improvement Plan; and approved Resolution No. 25-049 to contract with Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. for construction review services on the South Highway 69 Trail Improvements. Pay Application No. 1 for the Nord Kalsem Park Splash Pad (approved via Consent Agenda, listed as Resolution No. 25-046 in the meeting packet) was also accepted.
All recorded motions on these items carried with aye votes from Council Members Roberts, Echer and Rigler (those present). The council’s minutes do not list purchase prices or vendor names for the backhoe or the contractor amounts for the Mill & Overlay project beyond what appears in formal contract documents; those details were not specified in the meeting record and are to be posted with the project files.
Next steps: Public Works and Finance staff will finalize procurement and contract documentation and post required project and pay-application files.
