Residents ask whether Vincentown Grange is being sold; outage report questioned at Southampton meeting

During the public-comment portion of the Southampton Township Committee’s June 16, 2020 meeting, resident LeAnn Ditzman of 53 Mill Street asked whether the Vincentown Grange was being sold and told the Committee the community needs the space for events and parking. The minutes record Ditzman’s inquiry but do not record a response from the Committee.
Resident Doug Melegari of 219 Burrs Mill Road told the Committee that the power-outage descriptions provided earlier were incorrect and said one outage was caused by a motor vehicle accident. The minutes record Melegari’s statement; no staff or JCPL response is recorded in the public minutes.
After public comment, committee members offered routine reports. Committeeman James F. Young Sr. said the summer concert series will begin July 8. Committeewoman Elizabeth Rossell said the Shade Tree Commission and Environmental Advisory Committee will hold meetings virtually and that recycling information will be sent with tax bills. Mayor Michael Mikulski announced that fireworks and a park grand opening are scheduled for July 11, congratulated the 2020 graduates, reminded residents the primary election will be conducted by mail, and said the Planning Board will present a Master Plan review at its next meeting. Deputy Mayor William Raftery and Committeeman Ronald Heston had no comments recorded.
The public portion closed after the two comments, and the Committee moved to other agenda items.
