Mayor Michael Mikulski opened the second reading and public hearing and responded to a public question from resident Evie Doherty, who asked why the ordinance lacked a date when first introduced. Mikulski said the Planning Board hearing had not yet occurred at the time of introduction; the Planning Board later held its hearing on April 6, 2023.
Committeeman Ronald Heston moved to adopt the ordinance; Deputy Mayor William Raftery seconded. The roll-call vote recorded Mayor Mikulski, Committeeman Heston, Committeewoman Elizabeth Rossell, Deputy Mayor Raftery and Committeeman James F. Young all voting in the affirmative. No further public testimony was offered during the hearing.
The ordinance updates the township’s redevelopment plan for the specified lots; the committee did not discuss site-plan details at this meeting because no developer-submitted site plans had been filed. The committee’s action adopts the planning framework that will guide future site-plan review by the Planning Board and applicable agencies.
