Hernando County School Board honors 2025–26 district retirees

The Hernando County School Board honored the district’s 2025–26 retirees at its June 23 meeting, with staff and association representatives recognizing long service and volunteer contributions.
Mr. Ellerman welcomed retirees on behalf of the district and introduced Sharon Twimman and Cecilia Solomon of the Hernando County Retired Educators Association. Twimman described the association as a unit of the Florida Retired Education Association, outlined volunteer activities that support schools and community programs, and invited retirees to join. Twimman told retirees: "Welcome to Retirement Land. It's a great place to live." The superintendent thanked the retirees and noted that Mr. Ellerman will provide contact information (hcreinfo@gmail.com) for anyone interested in joining the association.
After remarks, retirees who remained for a group photo were called forward and read into the record by Mr. Ellerman: Marvin Gordon; Dana Pierce; Rodney Bird; Jerryanne Fernandez; Tina Dagliieri; Mary Beth Longoy; Gizler Geisler; Tina Clifford; and Toana Basso. The board thanked retirees for their service and adjourned the meeting.
