Board awards $102,500 contract to RDG for county comprehensive plan

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors approved a contract with RDG to lead a countywide comprehensive land use plan, accepting a $102,500 proposal and directing staff to form a steering committee to guide the process.
Board members said a steering committee reviewed three proposals and recommended RDG because of its focus on water quality and community workshops. Staff described the proposed committee makeup: two Planning & Zoning Commission members (Carol Pierce and Erica Schultz), one representative from the board of adjustment, one board-appointed supervisor, and staff liaisons including the trails director, director of conservation and director of engineering. The county will host workshops and focus groups (utilities, environmental stakeholders, city administrators) to solicit input; staff indicated RDG would likely start in August and the plan could be completed within a year.
A motion to approve RDG as the consultant was moved and seconded; the board voted unanimously.
