The Paramount City Council on June 23 adopted the city’s 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and water‑shortage contingency plan, a state‑mandated update used for long‑range water supply planning.
Public Works Manager Michelle Mueller told the council the UWMP is updated every five years under the Urban Water Management Planning Act and must account for normal, single‑dry‑year and multiple‑dry‑year scenarios. Mueller said the city met its prior per‑capita reduction target: "We met that at 89," she said, noting the prior plan’s target was 114 gallons per capita per day.
The plan is intended to support long‑term resilience and helps the city remain eligible for state water grants and loans. No public testimony was submitted. The council adopted Resolution 26021 by roll call vote.
