Neighbors seek compromise on proposed sheds; Carmel board holds case to August 27

Ted Finkelstein, attorney for the applicant, explained the request is treated as an expansion of a nonconforming accessory use on an unimproved lot and said the parties had begun discussing options. Neighbors Kelly and Brian Ramos explained their objection centered on the placement of one of the large 16-by-12 sheds immediately adjacent to their property and the potential loss of the lake view, which they said could affect their home’s value.
Finkelstein and the neighbors said they planned to meet and attempt a compromise; the board agreed to hold the application to the August meeting to allow negotiations. The board emphasized that if no agreement is reached the application will return to the agenda for formal consideration.
