Jacine Fernandez, a certified planner with College Engineering and Design, told the board the governing body removed two previously included residential parcels after community input and that the reduced study now covers five lots totaling just under one acre in the downtown core and transition zones. Fernandez said each parcel meets one or more criteria under the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law (vacancy or discontinuance of nonresidential use, dilapidation/unsafe design, or a parcel necessary for effective redevelopment), making the parcels appropriate for designation as an area in need of redevelopment.
The board moved and seconded concurrence with the study and referred it to the Township Committee for final adoption; the motion passed on roll call.
