Council approved a request for Mrs. Bonser’s Noodles to use the Agency Community Center on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, for a chicken-and-noodle dinner to benefit the Agency Public Library. Rebecca Warren, owner of Mrs. Bonser’s Noodles, was out of town; Pro Tem Mayor Samantha Ulin spoke on her behalf at the meeting.
Councilmember Steve O’Brien asked whether waiving the rental fee created a precedent. Ulin replied that the city had previously waived rent for the Agency Community Development Corporation. Councilmember Andrew Birch suggested asking organizations to pay the cleaning deposit only. City Clerk Angel Schafer confirmed the cleaning deposit is $125.00. O’Brien moved to approve the request provided the cleaning deposit is paid; Deshler seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
The minutes record that the rental fee was waived but the $125 cleaning deposit remains required. The event proceeds will be donated to the Agency Public Library.
