Neighbors press council over Agency Auto parking; council tables enforcement pending attorney review
Summary

Business owner William Eaton told the council he believed Agency Auto had previously been permitted to park vehicles on the gravel in front of the business and that he needed time to move vehicles to redo the lot. Eaton said he and his son had health issues that contributed to the delay in cleanup.
Councilmember Andrew Birch said parking in front of the business creates sight-line and hydrant-access hazards and reported receiving multiple complaints. Birch stated there were "currently six vehicles that have been parked there for at least three years," some with no plates and missing parts, and said many of those vehicles could be towed under city ordinances. Deputy Wonderlin said he had marked the allowed parking area with pink paint lines on the ground but Eaton said he had not seen them.
Fred Clubb reminded the council that the city previously required a privacy fence around stored vehicles and that green screening added to the chain-link fence had been removed. Birch suggested tabling a vote until the council consults with the city attorney; O’Brien recommended setting a firm cleanup deadline. The council voted to table final enforcement and directed staff to consult the city attorney and return the issue to a future meeting.
Resident Linda Heston made a public-comment complaint reiterating safety and aesthetic concerns and offered photos to council members. The meeting minutes record no enforcement motion or deadline passed at the Sept. 12 meeting.
