Agency City Council approves annual financial report, sets Jan. 20 budget workshop and solicits cemetery mowing bids

Sara Jane Douglas moved to approve Resolution 2025-01; Jacoby Deshler seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded Ayes: Andrew Birch, Jacoby Deshler, Sara Jane Douglas, Steve O’Brien and Samantha Ulin, with no Nays. The resolution passed by unanimous vote.
Council then set the Fiscal Year 2025–2026 budget workshop for Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. The motion to set the workshop was made by Deshler and seconded by O’Brien and carried on a unanimous voice vote.
Mayor Jake Johnson said the city will put out a bid for cemetery mowing that will include mowing and basic maintenance of trees; he suggested bids be returned to City Hall by noon the Monday before the next City Council meeting. Steve O’Brien moved to issue the cemetery mowing bid; Samantha Ulin seconded. The motion passed in a unanimous roll call vote.
The actions resolve routine administrative items ahead of the budget process and establish a procurement step for cemetery maintenance. The council did not debate specifics of the bid package during the meeting; the mayor and council indicated administrative staff will prepare bid documents.
The council adjourned at 7:20 p.m. The budget workshop is scheduled Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m.; the city will accept cemetery mowing bids as described in the council motion.
