O'Brien raised concerns about auto parts that had fallen off a trailer used in the cleanup and about a ditch on the west side of the building that he said appeared to have been filled in; a member of the public, Fred Clubb, said the owner began filling the ditch about three years ago and was told to stop. The council tied the extension to visible, continuing cleanup and to the restriction that nothing new be added to the lot.
The council’s action extends the city’s enforcement timeline under the nuisance ordinance while leaving further legal or administrative steps available if cleanup stalls. The council did not set a new enforcement penalty at the meeting; any additional enforcement would follow the city's code and attorney guidance.
