Board approves first readings of vehicle and food-service policy updates

Policy 3.402 (special use of school vehicles) was amended to add the school nutrition program to the list of approved users of school vehicles; the board moved, seconded and approved the policy on first reading by voice vote.
Policy 3.500 (food service management) was updated to add nutrition guidelines to the food service procedure manual; following a motion and second, the board approved that policy on first reading by voice vote.
Both items were recorded as first-read approvals; the board said additional policy changes were forthcoming and noted a TSBA webinar and Summer Law Institute for members to review the updates before final adoption.
