Village Manager Karen Tour reported that work on the aqueduct hub — the village's multimodal parking and transportation structure — is advancing rapidly, with large prefabricated sections being lifted into place.
"It's going up in large pieces like a gigantic Lego set," Tour said, noting the structure is moving along well and that staff expect completion in the coming weeks to reduce traffic disruptions downtown. She thanked the police department for traffic management during construction.
Tour also said the village is preparing to begin a second downtown revitalization project: renovation of the community center. She told trustees staff expect to have the bid packet ready by the end of the week and to go out to bid thereafter. Trustees asked about timing and traffic impacts; Tour said the intent is to minimize disruption while completing the projects.
The village will continue coordinating with the police department and other staff to manage construction impacts and public communications; no change orders, contract awards or budget reallocations were announced during the update.
