York Board of Education approves wage increases, building-fund amendment and energy financing contract

Board member Brian Tonniges moved to approve the board minutes from May 12, 2025; Alison North seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote. The board then approved routine bills and checks after a motion by Tonniges and a second from Matt Holthe.
The board approved an early graduation request for student Gavin Martin after a motion by Board member Alison North and a second from Brien Alley. The board recorded unanimous roll-call approvals on all recorded motions.
On personnel, Board member Alex Hildebrand moved, and Alison North seconded, a 4% hourly wage increase for support staff districtwide; the motion passed 6-0. The board also voted 6-0 to increase starting pay rates for support staff by $1.00 per hour after a motion from Brien Alley and a second from Matt Holthe. Separately, the board approved a 2.75% salary increase for listed administrators (Katie Burger, Dan Flynn, Kenny Loosvelt, Brian Gralheer, Tyler Herman) and two directors, Chris Ericson (Technology) and Derrick Forbis (Transportation), following a motion by Alex Hildebrand and a second from Matt Holthe.
On facilities and financing, Board member Brien Alley moved, and Alison North seconded, approval of an energy financing contract with Facility Advocates; the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved Partial Guaranteed Maximum Price Bid Package #1 from Hausmann on a 6-0 vote, and approved an amendment to the Special Building Fund budget after a motion from Brian Tonniges and a second from Brien Alley.
Board member Matt Holthe moved, and Alex Hildebrand seconded, approval of the Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District mitigation plan resolution as presented; the board approved the resolution by roll call vote. No teacher contracts were presented at the meeting.
The board entered executive session at 6:13 p.m. to conduct the superintendent's evaluation and returned to regular session at 7:18 p.m., then adjourned. Gayla K. Knight is listed as the board secretary on the meeting record.
