The owner chose to wait, and staff recommended approving the $65,000 purchase agreement with intent to close by early August. After closing, staff said the city would remediate and demolish structures and remove any obstructing trees to prepare the site for construction, expected in late 2026 or spring 2027.
Council approved the resolution by unanimous roll call. Staff noted the purchase agreement uses a standard form commonly used for conveyances.
What happens next: staff will proceed toward closing per the agreement terms, work on required remediation and easements, and then bring any further questions about selling or donating the parcel back for single‑family or low‑density housing options to the council.
