Township reviews PennDOT request for utility relocations ahead of Freeport Road paving

Harrison Township Manager Amy Rockwell told the Board of Commissioners on July 22 that PennDOT sent correspondence about the planned milling and paving of Freeport Road to Route 908 and asked the township for a letter and a formal resolution to permit utility relocation work.

"Correspondence was received from PennDOT in regard to the milling and paving of Freeport Road to Route 908, the request for a letter and Resolution for utility relocation work; and an agreement for Township share of the cost of relocation," Rockwell said. The manager reported the correspondence included an agreement describing the township's share of relocation costs, but she did not provide dollar amounts at the meeting.

The request will require elected action: officials will need to consider adopting a written letter and resolution to authorize utility relocations and to accept any cost-share agreement. Chairman Gary Meanor announced several related administrative items at the meeting but did not indicate a vote was taken on the PennDOT request that night.
