At the Oct. 20 meeting of the Dubois County Solid Waste Management District Board, District Director Carla Striegel–Winner said the district will increase the price of trash stickers and will seek board approval in December for higher large- and medium-item disposal fees.
Carla Striegel–Winner informed the board that the cost of trash stickers will increase from $1.50 to $2.00 per sticker effective Jan. 1, 2026. She also said she will request at the board’s Dec. 15 meeting that large-item fees increase from $12.00 to $16.00 per item and medium-item fees from $6.00 to $8.00 per item, per board approval. The transcript indicates the director plans to present the fee changes in December; the record does not show a formal vote on the large- and medium-item fee increases during the Oct. 20 meeting.
The record includes a brief discussion of truck maintenance (the Ford E350 and International MV) and that the director will try suggestions from the dealership to address ongoing issues. No implementation timetable or additional budget adjustments tied to the fee proposals were provided in the meeting minutes.
The director’s proposed fee request will return to the board on Dec. 15, 2025 for consideration.
