The ordinance states allowances are payable for claims submitted on or after Oct. 1, 2025, and that the county’s disbursement shall be considered a gift that cannot be claimed as a lump-sum death benefit for federal reimbursement purposes.
The motion to approve Ordinance 2025-14 was made, seconded and carried unanimously. The ordinance takes effect following passage and completion of any other legal requirements specified by law.
