Commissioner Nee says Alle-Kiski EMS authority planning continues; resident urges Natrona walk-through

Commissioner Jamie Nee told the Harrison Township Board of Commissioners on April 28 that work continues on plans for an Alle-Kiski Emergency Services Authority. A consultant is gathering additional data and a follow-up meeting is scheduled for June; the goal is for the authority to be functioning in January 2026, Nee said.
During commissioner comments, Commissioner Bengel reported attending a Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners (PSATC) meeting in Harrisburg April 27'028 and said a presentation from Katherine Wryosdick of the Governor's Center for Local Government Services was informative. Bengel also said he opposes efforts to enable municipal police departments to use radar and said Fire and EMS are receiving attention from state-level resources.
In public comment resident Bill Godfrey of 20 Walnut Street summarized community activities in Natrona, including an Easter Egg Hunt and a Cleanup Day with about 40 people signing in. Godfrey said Natrona Comes Together received $8,000 from the Grabil Foundation for a summer youth education program to run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and asked the board to consider organizing a walk-through of Natrona; Chairman Gary Meanor said the Board would discuss the suggestion.
The board took no formal vote on the EMS authority at the meeting and did not set a binding schedule for the Natrona walk-through; both items were recorded as updates and requests for future board consideration.
