Staff said many calls are non‑report incidents (personal contacts or ordinance matters) and that some calls do not generate formal reports. The department had two applicants since the last meeting but neither progressed to interview.
Chief Airhard (reported as expected but absent) had asked for a safety‑committee meeting to discuss department staffing; staff said they would arrange a meeting involving the sheriff, local officials, and department representatives and preferably schedule it before an upcoming work session. The council did not take formal action at the meeting but directed staff to coordinate the committee meeting and follow up with findings and possible staffing options.
