Cold Stone Springs near completion; committee hears ambulance, fire station and historic office updates

Town Manager Frederick told the Town of Jaffrey Budget Committee on April 2 that the Cold Stone Springs water project is approximately 95% complete and that crews are still testing pressures and treatment systems.
Frederick said the facility will be used on an as-needed basis and that the two towns involved have separate pumping systems; Jaffrey would tap the facility if the Squantum Road well is taken offline.
On emergency medical coverage, Frederick reported that Great Brook Ambulance has been operating at the JRMA facility to cover JRMA’s calls; he said they have staffed two ambulances during daytime hours and one at night, and that the town of Rindge is remitting monthly payments to JRMA.
Frederick also informed the committee that voters approved the fire station expansion at the recent Town Meeting and that work on a plan with the Jaffrey Historical Society to repurpose the former Town Office is moving ahead; the plan includes installing a separate propane meter for that building.
The committee deferred elections for chair and co-chair until the next meeting when a full board is expected to be present.
