Calhoun County canvasses Nov. 2025 city and school election results; EMS measure fails to meet 60% threshold

At its Nov. 12 meeting the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors canvassed and approved the results of city and school elections held in 2025.
The official canvass recorded winners and vote totals for multiple municipalities (including Farnhamville, Lake City, Manson, Rockwell City and others) and school board contests. The minutes list city-level vote totals and write-in tallies that the Board approved as presented.
Calhoun County Public Measure A — a county-level question regarding EMS as an essential service — returned 1,102 YES votes and 820 NO votes and therefore failed to meet the 60% threshold required for passage under the applicable rules noted in the minutes.
The Board approved the canvass results by unanimous motion and set the next regular meeting for Nov. 18, 2025. Detailed precinct-level and municipal tallies are included in the official minutes on file with the Auditor’s Office.
