Auburn city manager to depart for county post; last working day July 11

At the opening of the June 22 meeting the City Manager announced he has been selected for a leadership post with Placer County and that this council meeting would be his last in his current role.
"As council knows ... I have been selected to serve as the Placer County assistant CEO. So this is my last city council meeting," the City Manager said, noting he intends to make the transition to any interim manager seamless. He said his last day working for the city will be July 11, and because of scheduled vacation his last day at City Hall will be July 7.
The City Manager said the prior closed session discussed a potential interim city manager and staff will return with direction from the council about next steps. Council members offered thanks and appreciation for his work and for preparing transition materials to support a smooth handoff.
No formal personnel action was taken at the meeting; council discussion indicated staff will return with recommendations about an interim appointment at a subsequent meeting.
