Board reviews lake maintenance, compressor noise reduction and Pinehurst inlet estimate

Premier Lakes and operations staff reported routine maintenance and algae presence, said a compressor cabinet cut measured sound at Masters Lake from 64 to 52 decibels though tone remains a concern, and the board received a $10,692.88 estimate for a Pinehurst inlet-top repair and deferred Lake E4-A plantings pending Edgewater association agreement.
Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the River Ridge board on July 23 that lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition but that seasonal algae was present. Kurth said a cabinet was installed around a compressor at Masters Lake and reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels; Operations Manager Shane Willis and others said the tone of the aerator remains a problem and moving the compressor and evaluating easement constraints may be necessary.
Willis and Kurth will coordinate on whether to relocate the compressor and report findings at the next meeting. Mr. Schultz summarized flooding and littoral-planting concerns in Edgewater, recommended meeting with association representatives, and the board agreed to place plantings in Lake E4-A on hold until an agreement with the Edgewater association is reached.
Separately, District Manager Chuck Adams presented MRI Construction Estimate #C060-24 for Pinehurst Type 9 inlet-top work in the amount of $10,692.88 to prevent debris from blocking the structure; staff reported Mr. Krebs is seeking an additional proposal and the item will remain on the agenda.
Next steps: Staff will coordinate compressor relocation analysis with Bill and Alex Kurth, delay Lake E4-A plantings pending Edgewater agreement, and obtain another proposal for the Pinehurst inlet-top repair.
