River Ridge board approves $105,000 plan for solar speed-radar signs and cloud devices

The package included an option for a mobile unit Mr. Long suggested and cloud fees of $1,500 per device per year.
Mr. Long reported that moving one existing unit 20 to 30 yards could improve detection after it recorded about 800 varied speeding violations over a three‑week period. Staff said poles will be purchased from Paramount Asphalt at about $1,200 each.
On a motion by Mr. Schultz, seconded by Mr. Blumenthal, the board approved the AV‑Tech wiring and installation and cloud‑device package for a combined total of $105,000 (unanimous vote). The board discussed the HOA covering cloud‑device fees going forward and offsets through PSGRC covenant traffic‑fine revenues.
