The Olivia City Council approved the consent agenda which included regular meeting minutes, the 2026 annual resolution, personnel actions and several administrative approvals. The consent agenda also recorded a $1,500 donation from the Olivia Hospital and Clinic Foundation to support community physical activity programs and the hiring of seasonal community center staff (Marissa Castillo was named in the personnel item).
Staff and council reported on volunteers who kept Cornline USA open over winter break, thanked maintenance staff for snow removal, and referenced a pool report from Tracy available in the meeting materials. Upcoming community events were announced: the League of Minnesota Cities will host a roundtable in the council chambers and the city’s "Winter Warm-up" (a multi-vendor beverage tasting event) is scheduled for January 31 with associated child-care options offered by Bold Community Ed.
Council thanked volunteers George and Linda Solder and John and Kathy Bombgartner for organizing programs and noted that seasonal staff hires should restore regular community center hours by mid‑January.
