Council members asked how the allocations were calculated. Carrie Casey of the Department of Community Services explained the county's distribution follows a state-determined formula using service-area population and local expenditure, and noted the county is receiving approximately $30,000 more than last year.
"Service area population as determined by the state and local expenditure'so it's a formula as determined by the state of Delaware," Casey said.
