Planning staff to schedule legal review, draft park‑fee ordinance and begin comprehensive‑plan outreach

Planning staff told the commission they will circulate a doodle poll to schedule a legal‑review work session with the city attorney and will bring a draft ordinance addressing park fees to the commission later this summer. Ms. Curtis said she would "send out a doodle poll with some options" as she narrows dates and that "staff is going to be bringing forward, maybe not in May, but, in this summer, a draft ordinance for addressing our park fees."
Staff also said the comprehensive‑plan kickoff and related public survey and open houses will be scheduled later in the year and that a large earlier item—the North Arm boat launch redesign—was directed by the council to return with amended plans: "The council directed staff to draft approval resolution, for the variances, the conditional use permit for the seawall and the interim use permit for the grading on the site" and staff anticipated going back to council for final action on May 11.
Commissioners were asked to watch for scheduling notices and to expect outreach opportunities for the comp plan; the meeting adjourned shortly after these announcements.
