Keota schools report on counseling program, tests, FFA wins and upcoming events

Elementary Guidance Counselor Marnie Schrader presented the district's school counseling program, Caring Schools Community, and summarized takeaways from the Brian Medler conference.
High School Principal Rosewall noted that Levi Lyle applied for a $1,000 rocketry grant, staff professional development is progressing, NWEA testing is planned for next year, and summer school will be offered June 1–25, Monday–Thursday, noon–4:00 for credit recovery. He reported that ISASP testing "went well" and thanked local businesses and individuals for donations during testing. The school website now includes the Eagle's Wing resource.
Elementary Principal Milledge reported on recent activities including FFA week, Read Across America, the Scholastic Book Fair, ISASP testing and parent/teacher conferences; the elementary staff has focused on BLS/CPR training. Activities Director Stout updated the board about Keota FFA competition results and that Jack Greiner was elected a district officer. EagleRock concluded its competition season and is traveling to Florida; the NASA Space Settlement-Design Competition is set to begin March 25 in Houston. The spring play is scheduled for March 27–28; track and golf practices are starting in mid-March.
