At its Dec. 8 meeting the City Council approved a series of routine items and community updates.
Appointments: The council approved applications and reappointments to the Planning & Zoning Commission, voting to appoint Sean Cuff and Charles Smallwood to the commission. Charles Smallwood was also approved to the Parks & Recreation Commission.
Equipment purchase: Public Works requested and the council approved purchase of a 7-foot broom attachment for the Bobcat under state bid pricing. The council approved buying the broom from Farmight for $7,664 to improve sidewalk and trail snow clearing; staff said the broom will expedite clearing of wider sidewalks and walking trails but will not fit in narrower sidewalks.
Community events: Parks & Recreation staff described an upcoming painting event Dec. 13, a holiday decorating contest with entries due Dec. 25, and planning for music-in-the-park options in 2026. Council recognized city staff and specifically thanked departing employee Jessica Bwell for her service. The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:44 p.m.
