Britt council raises part-time snowplow pay, approves grade-test pay bump and routine vendor payments

At its Nov. 19 meeting the Britt City Council approved several compensation and administrative measures affecting public works and city finances.
The council approved raising the part-time public works snowplow pay rate from $18 to $20 per hour on a motion by J. Moore, seconded by B. Hiscocks; the motion carried with all ayes. The council also approved a $1 pay increase for each grade test passed in each category for Public Works employees (motion by A. Nelson, seconded by A. Weiss; all ayes).
On financial housekeeping, the council authorized transferring $5,862.07 into the golf checking account to pay bills to Alliant ($708.02), Swenson’s ($782.52), City UB ($183.04), Grass Masters ($3,925.00) and Britt-Woden ($263.49) (motion by A. Nelson, seconded by A. Weiss; all ayes).
The council approved installation of a keyless entry system from Central Lock Security for the water plant (motion by A. Weiss, seconded by B. Hiscocks; all ayes). A recommendation to add one person to the Planning & Zoning board was tabled; no vote on that addition occurred.
