Prairie City Council approves removal of two stop signs at West Eighth and North Claire

The Prairie City Council voted unanimously Dec. 10 to remove two stop signs at the intersection of West Eighth Street and North Claire Street after a public hearing. Mayor Chad Alleger opened the hearing at 7:20 p.m. and written correspondence from residents Leona Charls, Marcy Wilkerson and Samantha Funcke was read into the record.
Council Member Phil Holland moved to close the hearing; Derek Ingle seconded the motion, which carried on a unanimous roll‑call vote. Holland then moved to approve RESOLUTION 12-10-25-2 to remove the two stop signs; Ingle seconded. The council waived the second and third readings by unanimous roll‑call vote. The resolution will take effect upon publication of the meeting minutes.
