The Paynesville Planning Board voted to recommend that the city council approve a lot line rearrangement that would split parcels currently associated with DND Storage and Cronis Builders.
Property owner Dwayne described the history of the parcels and said the split is intended to separate ownership between the two businesses. “We decided to put up a building of 50 by 85 back in 2015,” Dwayne said, and explained that his attorney recommended the split to clarify ownership and reflect how the businesses were financed. He added that access and utility easements have been recorded with the county recorder.
Planning staff told the board the proposed lot alignment meets zoning and that neither the city engineer nor the public works director raised concerns. “They don’t have any concerns,” said Jennifer, referring to staff reviews; she confirmed the new lot configuration would not make either parcel nonconforming.
After discussion the board moved to approve the findings of fact and formally recommend the lot split to the city council; the motion was seconded and carried. Board members noted the final vacation of some easements will be handled directly by the council at a separate proceeding. Staff told the applicant the council public hearing is scheduled for May 11 at 6:30 p.m.
The board’s action is a recommendation only; the city council will take the final vote on the lot split and any associated easement vacations.
