Rundle Select Board elects officers, confirms appointments and adopts routine policies

The Rundle Select Board met on June 22 in Arundel and confirmed a slate of officers for the coming year while approving routine annual appointments, a warrant-signing policy and the board’s code of conduct.

The board accepted a proposed slate of officers with Dan named to serve as chair, Chip as vice chair and Velma as secretary. The motion was moved, seconded and approved during the meeting; the outgoing chair handed the gavel to Chairman Duboid.

The board approved a slate of charter-required annual appointments, including animal-control and building-inspection roles, the register of voters, town clerk and tax collector. The motion passed with four members voting in favor and one abstention (Tom), according to the transcript. The board also adopted a standing policy authorizing a select-board member to sign payroll warrants and disbursements between regular meetings, and re-approved the select board code of conduct unchanged from the prior year; those measures passed unanimously.

The board confirmed two planning-board members, Paul Green and Scott Curtis, and noted one remaining vacancy (the seat previously held by Jamie Lowry), with outreach underway to fill it before the next meeting.

Routine fiscal business concluded the meeting: the board approved payable and payroll warrants. No additional conditions or follow-up actions were recorded in the discussion of those warrants.

What happens next: confirmations and policy adoptions are effective immediately; the planning-board vacancy will be filled when a willing candidate is identified and confirmed at a future meeting.
