Paynesville council to review nuisance-property ordinance using League model

"We talked about updating the nuisance properties ordinance," Megan said, urging the council to "take a closer look at [the League's] proposed ordinance and maybe just revise the whole thing to fit what the league has put together." She said the policies-and-procedures committee spent significant time on the topic and recommended further study.
The matter was raised during the activity reports portion of the meeting and no formal amendment or vote was taken; councilors directed staff to review the model ordinance and return with recommendations. The discussion was framed as an effort to modernize city code and bring local rules in line with a template used by other Minnesota cities.
