Council approves expanded CEDA services at $95,711 for 2026; Jordan says local staffing will increase

The Pelican Rapids City Council approved a 2026 contract with the local CEDA program on Dec. 9, 2025 to increase in-person service from three to four days per week at an annual cost of $95,711.
Lance introduced the contract as an update to the 2025 agreement, noting the primary change is the increase in on-site days. "The only difference is we'd be jumping from 3 days a week to 4 days a week for a total of $95,711 per year," Lance said.
Jordan, a CEDA representative on the Zoom call, said she is hiring additional staff and interns to bolster local support: "I am not leaving Pelican Rapids... I am just looking for additional support based off of my duties with CEDA. I plan to have a job offer out to somebody by Christmas," she said.
Councilors moved and approved the contract by voice vote. The contract amount was included in the general budget approved earlier in the evening.
