Rocky River CIC elects officers, cites two past loans and no new projects expected

President Paul Shipp opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and said the CIC, established in 2002 to provide a conduit for low-interest loans to community organizations, has funded two eligible projects to date: Lutheran West School, for approximately $11 million, and the Unitarian Church, for approximately $1.3 million. Shipp said applicants paid all costs and there was no cost or liability to the City, and he added that the corporation must hold an annual meeting to remain active. He also told members that no new projects are anticipated at this time.
Under the meeting's procedural business, Shipp advised that the previous CIC minutes had already been approved by City Council, so no separate action on the minutes was required. Nominations for officers were then opened under Article IV, Section 3. Council member Ms. Havemann nominated a slate of officers: Paul Shipp for president; Christina Morris for vice-president; Jonathan Lindow for treasurer; and Lauren Oley for secretary. Mayor Bobst seconded the motion.
The members present voted unanimously to elect the slate. The roll-call vote listed Bobst, Hunt, Gallagher, Havemann, Shipp, Morris, Moran, Lindow and Furry as voting "aye," for a 9-0 tally; the motion passed.
The record indicates reports of officers and committees were called for following the election; the transcript does not include those reports. The meeting minutes show the CIC has played a limited financing role in two prior projects and that no new projects are expected to be brought forward at this meeting.
