Commissioners approve Tyler Technologies credit card agreement as recording fees change

The Carbon County Board of Commissioners voted July 15 to approve a credit card agreement with Tyler Technologies to accept card payments for recording and related services.
Clerk & Recorder Macque L. Bohleen joined Treasurer Leah Niemi to update the board on recording fee changes enacted by the legislature: document fees were increased to $20 for the first page and $10 for each additional page. Niemi told the board the county’s credit-card processor will charge a 2.4% fee for each transaction. Commissioners discussed the payment process and associated costs before Commissioner Bill E. Bullock moved to approve the agreement; Commissioner Scott C. Miller seconded and the motion carried.
The agreement enables the county to accept card payments for recording and other Clerk & Recorder services. The board did not record a separate fiscal estimate for projected transaction volumes or fee revenue in the minutes.
