Melbourne approves preliminary street closure for Mousehole Day; outdoor service permit conditional on insurance

The council on July 11 approved an expanded outdoor service and street closure plan for Mousehole Day presented by Tracey Beals of the Melbourne Pub, contingent on dram insurance verification and approval by the ABD. Carrie White moved approval, second by Gaege Bracy; the motion passed with all ayes.
City staff will provide snow fence to block the street, and Fire Chief David Gibbs agreed to fill barrels with water as barricades; the City will also provide a dumpster for event trash. The clerk said she will monitor the ABD licensing status online and the outdoor permit will proceed only after required approvals are confirmed.
