Committee hears trail usage spikes, DNR safety messaging and forestry update

The minutes record specific counts: Seeley Hills trails average about 1,600 riders per month, the Tuscobia Trail is over 3,000 visits per month, the LCO area has declined to about 500 visits per month, and a counter at OO recorded more than 5,500 visits in August. Committee members were also informed that there are more than 8,800 registrations for the Birkie to date and that Birkie Week events are open for registration.
LaReaux said the Forestry Department recently completed a logging project at site "00" with little interruption to trail services. The minutes also note the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued safety messaging that the committee was asked to share.
