The Coffee County Ambulance Authority on June 18 approved a memorandum of understanding with Manchester Fire and Rescue that formalizes response responsibilities within the city and cleared $9,898.91 in patient-account write-offs.
Director Bonner presented the MOU, which the board described as largely identical in language to an existing Tullahoma agreement adapted for Manchester. The board voted to approve the MOU by voice vote after brief discussion.
The meeting record shows the write-offs totaled $9,898.91. Dr. Gill moved to approve the write-offs and Dr. Trustler seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
In his monthly report, Director Bonner said the service handled 989 calls last month, up from 851 the prior year, and that average monthly volume is close to last year's rate if current trends continue. He told the board the department staffed Bonnaroo 2026 with its own personnel and transported 34 patients, three by air, with triage dispositions of 21 green (minor), eight yellow and five red; there were no fatalities.
"We staffed it completely of our own accord this year because our staffing is back up," Director Bonner said during his report.
Board members asked routine operational questions about dispatch-zone errors and timing; Director Bonner said a handful of mute delays were traced to an employee entering the wrong zone and that the issue had been addressed.
What happens next: the MOU is in place for Manchester city responses, and the write-offs have been recorded in the authority's minutes. The board also requested routine follow-up information on dispatch delays and budgeting that will appear in upcoming packets.
