Bayport council adopts consent agenda, appoints planning commissioner and hears routine staff updates

The motion to adopt the resolution approving items 1 through 11 was moved and seconded and passed on roll call with Council members Bliss, Gilmore, Kip, Hill and Mayor Hansen voting yes.
Staff reports and commission updates during the meeting included: - Police: Chief Jackson said the department completed a K9 narcotics audit and an unannounced quarterly evidence audit, is undergoing a BCA criminal justice information system audit, held a preschool K9 meet-and-greet, marked Officer Ryan Jones' four-year anniversary, and is planning a safety camp on July 13-14. - Public works: Director Hansen reported on the largest snow event of the year, ball-field improvements coordinated with St. Craig Prep, initiation of a sewer-lining bid process with partial funding from an MCE river grant, and identification of 22 water services in reconstruction areas that may be replaced pending federal IUP funding. - Planning: Staff previewed May public hearings (Bay Haven final plat, a variance at 317 Lake Street, an interim use permit for the old Cumins building, and proposed zoning-code amendments).
What's next: The council adjourned into closed session for the city administrator review; no other formal votes were recorded after the consent-agenda approval at this meeting.
