“Glad to be here. Excited to be here,” Kenny said at his first full council meeting. He reported 90 calls in February and said the department’s year-to-date total is 199 calls. Kenny noted firefighter milestones, including Luke Swinland completing his one-year probation and Kyle Pelleter reaching a seven-year service mark.
Kenny said he has been meeting mutual aid partners and city staff to strengthen coordination and urged residents to heed DNR guidance on frozen-water safety and to remove ice shacks by the stated deadline: “Think frozen water safety. Please, please, please.”
Kenny also said he attended community ribbon cuttings and is working to be visible to residents and partner agencies as he settles into the role.
Next steps: Chief Kenny will continue outreach with mutual aid departments and staff and respond to council questions as needed.
