Board approves consent agenda including personnel changes and out-of-state field trips

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Allamakee Comm School District board approved the consent agenda covering routine business: minutes, bills, financial reports, personnel actions, a student teaching agreement and two out-of-state field trips.
Personnel items approved included new Kids Club staff; assistant varsity wrestling coaches Tim Bulman and Kyle Gordon (each .5); an increase in mechanic pay; elementary night custodian John Lawrence; assistant varsity softball coach Daryl Roe; and substitute driver Agnes Garin. The board recorded resignations and retirements including Dallas Howe (elementary paraprofessional), Stephanie Iverson (elementary paraprofessional), Theresa Jacobs (teacher, retirement), Pat Klinge (high school paraprofessional, retirement), Carrie Etten (middle school paraprofessional), and Andy Sires (teaching and coaching contracts, retirement).
The board approved an 8th-grade Washington, D.C., trip scheduled for July 27–Aug. 3, 2025, and an FFA officer retreat in Rochester, Minnesota on Dec. 30, 2024. The board also approved a student teaching agreement with Grand View University. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Kelly Deeney, seconded by Beth Shafer, and passed with all ayes.
