Springdale council approves housekeeping amendment to 2025–26 budget

The Springdale Town Council approved Resolution 2026-08 on June 24, 2026, amending the town's 2025'26 budget to wrap up year-end accounting and adjust fund balances, and authorized the mayor to sign the document.

Town staff contact Don Breck said the amendment is primarily housekeeping to reconcile final figures. "The revenue I kind of came in a little bit low on the on the revenue," Breck said, adding that the shortfall will result in more funds flowing into the town's fund balance than earlier estimated. He also noted travel expenses for an employee named Rick were carried over into the amendment as spillover costs.

The council opened a public hearing as required but recorded no members of the public in attendance and closed the hearing without comments. A councilmember moved to adopt the resolution and the motion was seconded; when the chair called the vote, members present responded in the affirmative and the measure passed.

The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute the amendment and applies to the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The council described the change as an accounting reconciliation rather than a new program or policy change. No public testimony was received at the hearing.

The council moved on after the vote to an administrative item regarding the town's URS election form. The meeting adjourned shortly afterward.
