The board first approved the consent agenda, which included minutes, bills, financial reports and personnel actions: hiring Jasmin Lazzell and Justine Hesse as full-time elementary paraprofessionals; accepting the retirements/resignations of custodian Arnie Onsager and paraprofessional Joleen Reeg; and transferring Jacob Homp from East/West night custodian to Middle School night custodian. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Kelly Deeney and seconded by Jesse Delaney; the vote was all ayes.
In new business, the board approved and placed on file the fiscal year 2023 audit report (motion by Beth Shafer, second by Scott Melcher); approved School Budget Review Committee requests totaling $344,448.30 — a Special Education deficit request of $334,554.49 and an English Learner excess-costs request of $9,893.81 (motion by Jesse Delaney, second by Kelly Deeney); and authorized procurement and facility expenditures with individual motions and unanimous support. Those approvals included a $54,457.29 server and storage refresh quote from Heartland Business Services, a $38,898.00 concrete estimate from Kelly Concrete for the CTE building, and the purchase of chimes from West Music for $5,886.74 with reimbursement accepted from the Allamakee Music Boosters.
