Administrators report district ready for school year as staff and systems are staffed and updated

District directors reported readiness for the start of school: transportation is fully staffed, food service has new reporting software, phones were upgraded, and buildings and grounds added custodial staff. New teachers introduced themselves to the board.
District administrators gave brief oral reports to the board at the Aug. 19 meeting outlining operational readiness for the start of the school year.
Transportation Director Justin Piggott said staff handled many calls to finalize routes and reported the transportation department is fully staffed. Food Service Director Jess Keenan distributed examples of reports available from the new nutrition software and said she looks forward to using its features. Technology Director Andy Reichard reported the district phone upgrade completed over the summer and that technology is ready for the opening.
Building and Grounds Director Bill Hennessy said two new custodians were hired so maintenance will begin the year fully staffed. Special Education Director Carissa Otto discussed upcoming trainings and thanked kitchen and transportation staff for summer support. Curriculum Director Kelli Olson highlighted staff stepping into leadership roles for professional development days. Principals Samantha Thornton, Jen Garin and Luke Steege and Activities Director Brian Hilsabeck each reported buildings, schedules and orientations are in place for the opening week.
The board also received introductions from new teachers Ann Hagensick, Alison Sherman, Ashley Knox, Ryan Steffen, Mark Schmadeke, Scotti Hagensick, Adam Sacquitne and Makenzie Pladsen.
